Parvati and Aranga are two connected waterbodies comprising an area of 1,084 ha.They are rainfed lakes in a deep natural depression in the Gangetic plains of the terai region. The Parvati Aranga Sanctuary was established in 1997. However, core and buffer zones have not yet been demarcated.
